Achieve360Points.com is hosting a similar event to x360a's previously reported NBA Live 07 1000 people online Achievement event. For those who can't make it for the 25th's attempt, or simply can't wait that long to unlock the achievement, A360P is holding the event on the 10th-11th of this month, scheduled nearly two weeks before Xbox360Achievements.org's. A360P's event is on a slightly different schedule, taking place in the evening at 8:00 PM Eastern as opposed to the Sunday afternoon (3:00 PM EST) for x360a. In any case, it will be interesting to see if both succeed, and if so, who had the most users online. We hope to see you go online and help either event succeed.
Update: Altered article to neutral point of view.

As Press for x360a.org... I can only say that when we made the NBA Live event, we were thinking our of users. We wanted to help the people who really wanted the 1000 people achievement on the first attempt that RhinoTronics tried to help organize. We wish the best of luck to anyone going for the achievement.
However, we think our date and time will allow more people, in more places, to be well prepared :)

I dont own the game so it does not matter, but I would prefer this new timeslot. Tons of gamers work on weekends during the day, and an evening event at 9:00 ish would be better. Also, the date is better. Why wait nearly 1 month to start the event? Do you expect people to book off work or something for it?
On a side note, I think Xox360Achievements.org is the better site, but in terms of this meeting, has the crappier set-up.
On another side note, I think both sites need to merge or one needs to quit the race. Theres no real need for both of them
And on an even further side note, I think both names are too long and confusing. The site should just be 360achievements.org (or better yet, .com.

I'm very surprised at A360P for doing this, it does look a lame rip off of X360A's event. It's a real shame.
But yes, I agree with mike; both sites should pull a xblarcade/Ilovexbla and merge. But we all know that won't happen, sadly.

Uh, this is actually the second event by A360P for this. The first one was unofficial, but they did mention it first. I just looked it up and they had it in a news post on the 22nd of Jan, which is what, 10 days before X360A announced this idea?

Actually, that was not the first event A360P organized as they didn't organize that event.
The event you're refering to was set up by RhinotronicsCom, with later aided from X360A.
Merely mentioning it is much different than the effort DaKing240 and the X360A staff offered on short notice.
So in closing, it looks like there may be an opportunity for people to finally get this achievement. If not at the first event, surely by the second.
